The Japan Relief Fundraiser – Uniting Communities across the Pacific (JRF) is a night for you to show the care and support you have for the Japanese community. This motivational and entertaining event will consist of a 9-course dinner at the Shiang Garden in Richmond with a charity cash bar, speeches from the Canadian Red Cross and others and performances from local singers and dancers.

Soon Lower Mainlanders from all cultures will celebrate the year of the Rabbit at the many Chinese New Year celebrations happening in Vancouver and of course Richmond. Here are a few events taking place to ring in the year of the Rabbit.

In totally useless news today, the world’s largest mailbox resides in Richmond. It’s located outside the Richmond Public Library (Brighouse branch). The gigantic mailbox is 5.43 metres high and 2.64 metres wide.

On December 29th at 8:30pm playing hockey for food will commence as 8 Rinks in Burnaby generously donated ice time to Hockey Community in support of The Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
