This year is the third annual Illuminate Yaletown festival. For those attending you may notice that this year it’s part of the new City and Slope Festival. City and Slope is a four day festival held in downtown Vancouver and its world-class mountains, Grouse, Cypress and Seymour, read more about it here. As the sun sets on February 10th and 11th, artists will light up their exhibits and Illuminate Yaletown. This  free event brings contemporary light art installations throughout the streets of Yaletown.

Together with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada’s (LLSC) Team in Training, Emma Christine is training to complete her first marathon at the BMO Vancouver Marathon and Karoline Monkvik is training to complete her first triathlon (Lavaman, Kona, Hawaii). At Team In Training is raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. They’re completing these events in honour of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on their team, and they need your support to cross the ultimate finish line – A Cure.

Hain-Celestial Canada, ULC, a leading natural and organic food company, will give away over 4,000 tubs of The Greek Gods yogurt in the downtown core tomorrow morning between 7-10am. See below where you can get your free am breakfast tomorrow.

Nerds, geeks, whatever you want to call fans of comics, gaming etc…, you will be happy to know that Fan Expo is finally coming to Vancouver! Fan Expo Vancouver will unite all fans of comics, gaming, anime, horror, and sci-fi and organizers are dubbing this as  Comicon Hollywood North and why not, this is one of the biggest expo’s to hit Vancouver. Sprawling over 100,000 square feet, the expo will showcase hundreds of exhibits and specialty retailers in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Tickets go on sale February 21st!

The search & rescue efforts for Mike Grefner are amazing and have been fueled by the love of his family, friends & strangers. As we all know, these searches can get quite costly and we want to provide some financial help to those volunteering their time to bringing Mike home. That’s where this event steps in…

The silver fox, Anderson Cooper will be coming to Vancouver at The Vancouver Convention Centre on April 5th, 2012.
