Weekend Workshops with Max Strom
#110-1985 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC
OPENING THE CHEST AND SHOULDERS
Saturday, November 28th, 1:00pm-3:00pm. Movement based workshop
Some of the negative side effects of using a computer are that we find ourselves with frozen shoulders, sore forearms, and injured wrists. This workshop targets these issues with a special sequence of postures that opens the chest and shoulders. This induces an emotional sense of release, brings the mind into stillness, and the body into a new state of energy. Open to all levels except absolute beginners. This movement workshop is both challenging and very healing.
LEARN TO BREATHE, TO HEAL YOURSELF AND YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
Saturday, November 28th, 3:30pm-5:30pm. All levels
How does the way we breathe affect our stress level, anxiety, quality of sleep, and even our relationships? Breath penetrates, breath invigorates, and breath heals. The effect of Max’s breath work can lead to profound release and calm. Other benefits may include increased energy and mental clarity. This works so quickly and effectively that Max has successfully brought his unique breathing program into the corporate world. Class will include a lecture, simple but high impact breathing exercises; very gentle breath-initiated movement, and guided meditation. Appropriate for all levels.
Do not eat at least two hours before practice and eat lightly.
Dress in loose fitting clothing.
Arrive a few minutes early and leave your cell-phone in your car.
Before class, inform Max of any injury or special condition.
This breathing workshop is not advisable if pregnant.
THE INTERNAL TECHNOLOGY OF HAPPINESS
Sunday, November 29th, 12:30pm-2:30pm. Lecture and writing
We live with our mind in a storm and we call it normal, but we know it isn’t. This storm is what keeps us awake at night in anxiety or causes depression. This is why we need to turn our attention to our internal technology and personal growth now more than ever. This seminar offers an inspiring and insightful talk by Max based on the ideas of his new book, There is No App for Happiness, followed by a concise course in essential internal technologies for transformation. Max will ask ten questions, you will be asked to write down the answers, and these answers will illuminate your inner life. This work, simple in its nature, astonishes those who take the class. The insight you will gain cannot be purchased or found in a book or university. Insight you gain will be from within yourself. This special seminar may help you to see the world differently, and even course-correct the trajectory of your life. This is not a movement class, be sure to bring writing materials. (Please no recording equipment)
SOME DOORS OPEN ONLY FROM THE INSIDE
Sunday, November 29th, 3:00pm-5:00pm. All levels
Join Max for a special session of standing and sitting breathing exercises. The voice of our intuition and wisdom is commonly drowned out by the noise in our mind. The noise is often caused by chaotic or congested emotions from stress, depression, PTSD, or anxiety. Focused breath work can spark within us the reawakening of our higher nature, the voice of intuition, wisdom, and conscience. The practices you will learn in this workshop will take you to new depths and inspire you for weeks to come. Max has taken this work around the world to people of many faiths and nationalities. Bring your mat and writing materials. (Please no recording equipment)
PLEASE ALSO CHECK OUT THE TEACHER TRAINING INTENSIVE WITH MAX STROM, NOVEMBER 25TH-27TH, 2015 AT SEMPERVIVA VANCOUVER.
For 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teachers the credits of the course can be applied towards the 500 hour certification, and is eligible for CEUs with Yoga Alliance. Continuing Education Units are required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher.
