The Venezuelan Canadian Society of BC and SFU’s Vancity Office of Community Engagement would like to invite you to an afternoon of cultural discovery, as captured through the lens of talented Venezuelan film makers.

Join us for a double screening of two internationally acclaimed Venezuelan films:

2pm: Brecha en el Silencio (“Breach in the Silence”) by Andrés and Luís Rodríguez. This film was Venezuela’s official submission to the Oscars 2014 best foreign language film category. The film was also featured in the Vancouver International Film Festival

4:30pm: El Silencio de las Moscas (“Silence of the Flies”) by Eliezer Arias. This film won in the Latin American competition for the 2014 International Documentary Festival in the Dominican Republic. For more information please visit http://elsilenciodelasmoscas.wordpress.com/

Tickets are $10 for each movie, and they are available at the door or online at www.vcsbc.ca.

VCSBC is a non-profit organization that acts as a bridge between Venezuelans and other communities in British Columbia. The organization aims to foster integration and collaboration by offering programs, events, services and information to the community.
