Salons are a time-honoured forum for discussion and exchange of ideas. Vancouver +Acumen is continuing this tradition by hosting a monthly series of salons inspired by the values and principles of Acumen, at local restaurants who share our values and moral leadership within their communities.

This month’s conversation will around the topic of: Failure

Acumen+Vancouver loves supporting small businesses in our city and is proud to be holding this month’s salon at Gurkha Himalayan Kitchen. The Gurkhas are world renowned and respected Nepali soldiers, highly prized in the British Army and known for their loyalty, generosity, and courage. The term Gurkha originated from Gorkha, the name of one of the districts of Nepal. At Gurkha Kitchen, every dish is freshly prepared using only the highest quality, low-fat ingredients that are free from any artificial colouring or preservatives. Join us for a night of great food and conversation.

Upon purchase of your ticket you’ll receive links to several short pieces of content in your Eventbrite receipt email. Please read/watch these prior to the event as the pieces will be used to fuel our conversation. Tickets are on a first come first serve basis and are limited to 20 seats for a more intimate evening. Your Salon ticket includes a multi-course dinner from the wonderful Belgard Kitchen. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requests when we ask you during ticket registration. Drinks, desserts, and additional items are available for purchase during the Salon. More info on Vancouver+Acumen Salons can be found at:

Whether it’s your first or 8th Salon, you’ll be in good company with first timers and those who have attended past discussions. There are no right or wrong answers and we’re not trying to solve problems by the end of each night. The purpose of the Salon is simply to have a great conversation with really interesting people. Vancouver+Acumen volunteers will be at each table to help guide the conversation around our theme.

We look forward to seeing you at the Salon on Tuesday, November 25th, and to many great conversations there.
