Vancouver International Flamenco Festival presents Fast-Forward Rewind

Flamenco Rosario presents the impassioned retrospective Fast-Forward Rewind, September 26, 2015, 8pm at the Waterfront Theatre in celebration of the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival’s 25th anniversary. Artistic Director, fervent instructor, choreographer and dancer Rosario Ancer is accompanied by Music Director and prodigious guitarist Victor Kolstee, as well as seven gorgeous dancers in a performance that weaves together four company works: 1997’s Raices (Flamenco Roots), which explores the origins of flamenco; Mis Hermanas: Thicker Than Water My Sisters & I (2008), the award-winning, personal portrayal of Ancer’s childhood and her discovery of flamenco; 2013’s contemporary La Monarca (The Monarch and the Butterfly Effect), a feast for the senses that examines creative transformation; and 2015’s Quadrilogue Affective, a moving piece that provides a glimpse into Ancer and Kolstee’s artistic and deeply personal partnership.
