The Roxy Presents: Taylor David, February 26, 2016 at 7:00 PM.
Tylor David began exploring the Vancouver, BC music scene as more than just an eager spectator when he and some of his friends formed their first group, dubbed The Light Machines, in 2008. He spent the better part of four years fronting the band as they played a series of local shows garnering a noticeable attention from not only music fans, but the professional music community as well. The band released a collection with representation, but disbanded shortly after due to complications with that process.
Following this, Tylor remained consistently involved with music in a less invested manner continuing to write songs, and play in coffee shops and small bars. Through this period, he noticed a growing and innate craving to do more with his passion once again, and decided to pursue music once again as a solo project. Almost simultaneously, he also acted on the opportunity to join “Dream Grunge” quartet Owl Skowl as their bassist.
Tylor has been in-studio, bringing both materials he accumulated while exploring solo songwriting, and fresh ideas, to work towards his first solo release. Recording has been an experience that has allowed Tylor to really channel his vocals, reminiscent of a golden age passed, and a guitar style similar to a sound Greenwich Village would produce circa the 60s.
