The World Day for Inner Peace
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
620 Poirier Street
The World Day for Inner Peace is an international initiative in its second year, now with over 40 participating countries. The goal of this initiative is to spread the message of peace through supporting families and young minds to find joy, emotional and mental wellness, and spiritual fulfillment through the practice of a simple meditation technique known as Sahaja Yoga. Since 2000, the Unesco Center for Peace has chosen Sahaja Yoga meditation as their official partner to support the diffusion of world peace. In Canada, we are a registered non-profit organization which has been delivering meditation classes free-of-charge to the public since 1981.
On March 21 between 2 to 4 pm, families of the Lower Mainland are invited to partake in meditation workshops at the Centennial Pavilion at 620 Poirier Street, Coquitlam. These simple workshops are tailored for different age groups, from young children to youth, and adults to seniors. Families of all cultures and background will come away feeling supported to find inner peace at home, at school and at work. Children will also enjoy art activities, while our youth meditation practitioners will conclude the event with a performance of cultural music. Tea and refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.
