Sound Play at the ArtStarts Gallery
808 Richards Street
When is a bike also a musical instrument? What sound does a Qarkabeb make? How can you make sound visible?
Visit the ArtStarts Gallery and be immersed in an exciting sonic experience. Sound Play is an interactive exhibition exploring music, acoustics, composition and sound-making, featuring installations and artwork by students from across BC and by professional artists working with young people.
Pedal sound-making bikes, listen to original songs, experiment with a cymasium, play with musical instruments from around the world, and more. Come play with us!
The ArtStarts Gallery is located at 808 Richards Street (at Robson) in downtown Vancouver. The Gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
The ArtStarts Gallery is the first in Canada devoted exclusively to young people’s art. Since the gallery opened in 2006, exhibitions have celebrated the exciting artwork that emerges when students, educators and professional artists work together to deepen learning, creativity and community connections.
