Screening of “Girl Rising”

FFOD will be screening the documentary Girl Rising at The Cinematheque!An optional discussion period will be held in the theatre after the film if you would like to stay and debrief with us! The event will run from 1PM-4PM, and will comprise of some short speeches, the film, a snack break, and the optional discussion time.
“The touching feature tells the stories of nine girls from different parts of the world who face arranged marriages, child slavery, and other heartbreaking injustices. Despite these obstacles, the brave girls offer hope and inspiration. By getting an education, they’re able to break barriers and create change.”
Directed by Academy Award nominee Richard E. Robbins, the film features narration by Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Selena Gomez, Liam Neeson, Priyanka Chopra, Chloë Grace Moretz, Freida Pinto, Salma Hayek, Meryl Streep, Alicia Keys and Kerry Washington.
Tickets can be bought online at http://www.freedomforourdaughters.org/events.html, and a PayPal invoice for your ticket will be sent within 24 hours. Upon receiving confirmation of your payment, we will send you your ticket for you to print out.
Tickets will be sold for $8 from June 2nd to June 15th, for $10 from the 16th to the 26th, and for $10 at the door.
