S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Transit Plebiscite Forum
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
28 West Pender Street
Vancouver , Canada
S.U.C.C.E.S.S. will be hosting a public forum to help facilitate a better understanding and awareness of issues related to the transit plebiscite. As a leading social services organization, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has a core mandate to reflect the needs and issues of Canadians, and immigrants in particular, and to encourage their full participation in community affairs. We recognize that many immigrants are significant users of public transit and that transportation infrastructure and services play a critical role in the social and economic well-being of new Canadians. As a result, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. supports ongoing investment in effective transportation infrastructure and services and in particular, the continued improvement of transit availability, reliability, and accessibility for all immigrants. Transit policies and services must be reflective of the changing demographics of the region and take into account language and cultural differences faced by new Canadians.
At the forum, guest speakers from YES and NO sides will be invited to present their viewpoints. The event is conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation in Mandarin and Cantonese. The public will have an opportunity to raise concerns about the transit plebiscite.
