The winter season brings new activities and challenges for parks and recreation departments. Recreation professionals are familiar with the importance of risk management programs. Here is your chance to attend a practical workshop to learn about the liabilities and risks associated with winter use of your parks and facilities and the steps you can take to improve service delivery and operation of your department. This course focuses on the need for written policies and procedures and uses many examples of liability losses and injuries.

Topics discussed will include appropriate winter signs, toboggan, hills, outdoor/ indoor, rinks, trail use, ski slopes, frozen ponds, winter golf course use, and much more!

A workshop manual, including guidelines, policies and reports will be provided. Participants will receive a certificate after they have completed the course.
