Reading and Signing of “What Doesn’t Kill Us”
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
317 E. Broadway
Vancouver, british columbia
Join Rabbit Fool Press for an evening of laughter and tears, words and music, and food and drinks as local author Brandy Liên Worrall reads from her groundbreaking memoir about cancer and the legacy of the Vietnam War in her mixed race family. Brandy will also share from her work-in-progress, 17 Days, the sequel to What Doesn’t Kill Us. There will be a Q&A and book signing following the reading. Half the book sales ($20/copy) for the evening will be donated to Callanish Society, a small non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families dealing with cancer.
We are also pleased to feature Laurel Murphy, singer and sound practitioner, who has offered sound at Calllanish’s relaxation sessions for the past 10 years. She will be performing selected tracks from her just-released jazz album When I Was a Bird, a rich fusion of jazz and folk. The CD will be available for purchase for $20, with $5 of each sale going to Callanish.
