All events are free and open to the public! Placement Gallery is ready to host its premiere Vancouver exhibition, Outsiders: Vancouver & Beyond. This inaugural exhibition will have two focuses: the work of Vancouver artist, Jack Proctor and a small survey of Outsider and Self-Taught artists from around the globe.

Born and raised in BC, Jack Proctor has been creating art his whole life, a blue collar worker by day and creator by night. Jack’s object work can be seen as reminiscent of Calder’s mobiles in terms of whimsy, colour and detail, while his collages incorporate multi layered paper, glass, glitter and glass beads. The result is pure visual pleasure.

The other focus of the exhibition is a sampling of prominent Outsider and Self-Taught artists. Featured work will highlight pioneers in the field, such as artists Howard Finster (1916 – 2001), Purvis Young (1943 – 2010), Damian Michaels, Anne Grgich, Lillian Colton, and many more. This is a unique opportunity to view a range of works by established Outsider artists from around the world in one exhibition.

Placement Gallery is a pop-up gallery project from Yuri Arajs, curator and artist.
