CrossFit Vancouver is hosting the 5th Annual Nutts Cup competition on Saturday, August 16th from 8:30am-4:30pm.
The Nutts Cup is held in honour of Lt. Andrew Nuttall, who gave his life serving with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) in Afghanistan, 2009. Andy’s parents and members of his PPCLI regiment will all be in attendance to cheer on the competitors and celebrate Andy’s ongoing contribution to the community.
Andy “Nutts”, was one of the first coaches at CrossFit Vancouver. His passion for coaching and improving the lives of his clients was evident from day one. Andy was a unique individual who was never satisfied with his efforts, he always strived to do more. His motto was ‘Make a Difference’, which continues to this day through the Lt. Andrew Nuttall, Youth at Risk (LANYAR) Foundation.
All proceeds from Nutts Cup benefit the Youth Warrior Program at CrossFit Vancouver, supported by the LANYAR Foundation. The Youth Warrior Program was established in 2008; the focus of this program is to provide at risk teens the opportunity to learn about fitness, nutrition, and perseverance; as any one who has done CrossFit knows, these workouts are not for the feint of heart! Many of the kids involved in this program have made significant, positive changes in their lives as a direct result of their participation in this program.
