Imagine Bassmusic, with an analogue soul, coming straight from the motherland of Electro. Sounds good? Well, that's Marten. From Australia to North America and Europe to Asia, Marten Hrger has amassed a following of devoted fans and made a lot of 'Bleeps & Bass' loving friends along the way.
He started his career at the age of 15 and although he wasn't allowed to be in the club legally, he still managed to secure a residency at 'Douala', one of South Germany's most famous underground techno club. Marten first gained international attention when German Elektro originator Westbam labeled him 'the new wonder kid of bass music'.
Since then, he's donned the hat of both DJ and producer, releasing a crate-load of music to critical acclaim. His first ever solo release 'LGFU' earned him two international Breakspoll Awards for Best Single and Producer of the year. Never one to stop, after 'LGFU', Marten continued to drop singles and remixes on labels like 'Instant Vibes', his new Home 'Punks Music', and 'Central Sation Records' in Australia (the latter being nominated for 'Video of the Year' at the international Bassmusic awards). Being a analog synth collector helped him create an inimitable sound, which gained huge support from fans, A-list DJs and radio stations worldwide.
Not bad for a small town boy who grew up in the countryside, pounding Schnitzels and eating Sptzle in the kitchen of his mom's restaurant in Ravensburg, Germany.
Marten has taken his personal idea of multi tempo – multi genre 'Bleeps & Bass' all over the world. He's played DJ gigs everywhere from Beirut to Brooklyn and Ibiza to Siberia. It's easy to see why he's beloved by DJ's and fans everywhere. With over a dozen North American and Australian tours, playing festivals like Shambhala, Kazantip, Mayday, Breakfest, Snowbombing, and Love Parade (R.I.P.), as well as residencies all over the world, it's hard to see how Marten finds time to mentor and provide a springboard for new talent.
Stamina Agency, founded by Marten & his childhood buddy Norb, is a boutique management and booking agency dedicated to helping quality music get the exposure it deserves. It's home to both, established stars as well as a small group of up-and-coming DJs and producers.
In addition to his solo projects and running the agency, Marten is also one half of the duo SMASH HIFI, along with ex-Prodigy member Leeroy Thornhill. In march this year they released their first EP which led them to inking a deal with BMG. SMASH HIFI's full length album is currently in the making.
As a DJ and producer, Marten has achieved what seems to be so elusive in today's music landscape: He's carved out a lane of his own and he's driving in it without limits.
Fusing two fresh-off-the-mountain electronic music addicts, Tim and Dave together create 12 feet and 350 lbs of turbo-funk-boosted, snowsuit-donning man flesh. Hailing from the world famous ski town of Whistler, this dynamic duo loves shredding fresh power almost as much as they love smashing out hit records in the studio.
Producing & performing together since 2010, they are like savage yetis feeding off of each other during their high energy live shows (which often feature snow machines & loud retro ski gear) while they blast through genres playing everything funky from bassline house to black-diamond twerk.
Juwee, FxFarmer and Bobby Kudlicz: the three headz from the south of Germany, who launched the project Funkanomics in late 2006, have since then been touring extensively in the club scene. They have taken their beat contoured live experience and mixed it with their own funked up style in their productions. A sound that is designed for the dance floor and made up of beautiful crunchy bass lines, coupled with pumping grooves. A merger that works and once it starts cant be stopped.
In their sets the “Funkos” impress by presenting their sound on four turntables plus a very own live set including breakbeat with influences from hiphop, funk, dope beats, reggae and electronica. They go against the grain of conventional djing so smoothly, that you only have to listen to it once and its inside your head. As a result the crowd is instantly whipped to a frenzy with an imaginative and more approach to dance not confined to one genre.
