Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour has refused to do his military service, and for that reason his passport has been taken away. Unable to leave his country, he wrote this play to travel the world. Each night, he speaks to you through the body and the voice of a different actor who reads the script for the first time, guided by fourteen precise instructions.
Unpredictable and unforgettable, Lapin blanc, lapin rouge is a testament to the power of words, able to transcend borders and cultures, with or without a passport. A Théâtre la Seizième production in collaboration with Aurora Nova (Germany) with direction by award winning director, Craig Holzschuh and performance by a different actor for each night, among the following: Lyne Barnabé, Denis Bouchard, Cory Haas, France Perras and Marie Villeneuve.
Single tickets start at $25. Subscription packages and group rates available. Performances: Tuesday-Saturday at 8PM. Artist Q&A: Friday. Your French isn’t parfait? No problem! We have English surtitles on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
