JUBILATION! :A Celebration of 125 Years of Musical Theatre

From HMS Pinafore to The Book of Mormon, a special program of some of the best known songs from musical theatre will be presented by some of Vancouver’s most celebrated performers, all in honour of the 125th anniversary of Christ Church Cathedral, and to raise funds for the Performing Arts Lodge Vancouver and the 127 Society for Housing.“As we celebrate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the congregation, it’s appropriate to look back and take note of our social history” says Cathedral Dean Peter Elliott, “and what a more wonderful way than through the songs from musical theatre.”
Guest artists include Kazumi Evans, who recently performed in Patrick Street’s production of Out of a Dream and the Arts Club’s 2013 award winning production of Avenue Q, Warren Kimmel who also performed in Out of a Dream and TUTS’ Legally Blonde, Cailin Stadnyk who recently appeared in Les Miserable and the Arts Club production of Company, and Jonathan Winsby recently seen in the Arts Club production of Spamalot and also in the Stratford Festival’s productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Camelot. Joining this stellar collection of actor/singers are renowned special guests Christopher Gaze, Judith Forst, Bob Robertson & Linda Cullen, and James Hibbard.
Music director Ken Cormier and stage director David Adams will bring together soloists, a mass chorus including members of the Christ Church Cathedral Choir and the Vancouver Children’s Choir, accompanied by musicians Cam Wilson (violin), Rene Worst (bass), and Graham Boyle (drums).
