Reel Causes and the City of Vancouver present an awesome evening of art and film to raise awareness about youth homelessness. Mix-and-mingle at a special art reception before the film. Then catch the screening of Sugar, the 2013 award-winning film about a young girl with a troubled past trying to survive on the streets of Venice Beach, California. Finally, engage with community change-makers at a post-film panel discussion with Sugar director Rotimi Rainwater by Skype, Judy Graves (Advocate for the Homeless) and others.

In support of Raincity Housing & Support Society’s LGBTQ+ Youth Shelter.

Art reception: 5:30-6:30 p.m. at VCC downtown – 250 W. Pender St. (enter from Hamilton at Dunsmuir).

Screening of Sugar and panel discussion (7 p.m., doors open 6:30 p.m). at SFU Woodward’s Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, 149 W. Hastings St.
