Get a free risk assessment with CANRISK
Available in 13 different languages, CANRISK is a questionnaire that pharmacists can use to help individuals identify their risk of pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. Developed by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), CANRISK accurately reflects known diabetes risk factors applicable to Canadians; including questions on ethnicity, education and gestational diabetes.
A different ball game
There is a lot of evidence that lifestyle changes (achieving a healthy body weight and moderate physical activity) can help prevent the development of type 2 diabetes. Physical activity is one of the main pillars in the prevention of diabetes. Increased physical activity is important in maintaining a healthy weight and is linked to reduced blood pressure, reduced resting heart rate, increased insulin sensitivity, improved body composition and psychological well-being.
So, get on the ball and learn what it can do for you!
