Conference Ignite 2015 is an opportunity to learn more about gender inequity and discuss ways to combat it. Attendees will hear from the President of UN Women Canada, Almas Jiwani and the Executive Director of Battered Women’s Support Services, Angela MacDougall.

Workshops will be held from organizations such as Amnesty International, BWSS, Women in Film and Television, and Women Against Violence Against Women. The conference will conclude with a case competition where participants will work with these organizations to propose a solution to an issue regarding gender inequality – with the opportunity to win $150 and work with that organization to put their ideas into action.

Girlsco. is a Vancouver based, youth-run organization that seeks to educate people on the rights of women and girls on a local level, so that they can implement change within their communities and throughout the world.
