Fair Trade Made? Exploring Opportunities and Challenges for Ethical Apparel
6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
2nd floor - 375 Water Street
Join Fair Trade Vancouver and our panel including Amy Roberts from MEC Outdoor Equipment and Clothing, Kemp Edwards at Ethical Profiling, and Anil Hiro, Professor at SFU to discuss opportunities and challenges with fair trade apparel and ethical clothing. In 2014 we saw the first companies certify their manufacturing as fair trade, MEC being among them, which begs the question: how do transparency and ethics factor into apparel supply chains?
Vancouver is fortunate to have a number of sustainability-forward companies working the apparel industry. Come and hear some of the approaches taken to tackle this difficult and complex industry, and bring your questions.
Format will be short presentations followed up by an open question and answer.
This event is FREE an open to the public.
