Ellice Blackout

Empire Bio:A fast-paced up in your face rock group from North Van. Their sound is rough, loud, grungy and spastic, bouncing through melodies and rhythms with a dirty energy and heavy punch. They rely on distorted guitars and foot stamping beats that pronounce a singer swooning and screeching to a riled up audience. The band as a whole moves like a unit, with parts forever changing and evolving as the song rumbles on. Their sound ultimately becomes abrupt changes that can arc their way through fast and slow/loud and soft. This kind of songwriting makes for easy listening throughout the audience while also pertaining to a different kind of ear looking for something deeper and musically interesting as well. The softer side of the band is more transcendent and does not so heavily rely on distortion, but airy effects and melodic riffs. It is also not as dark as their more upbeat stuff, however still comes off as mysterious and slightly sinister in comparison. Empire is a force of nature. Empire is Jordan Heaney, Jason Tancredi, Brian Tancredi, and Reg Pepito

For every song we as Empire release, we will paint a picture WHILE listening to the song on repeat to as closely represent the visual aspect of the music as possible. It was once said that Jimi Hendrix was able to listen to music in colour. That concept is something we are trying to tap into as colour is sometimes a more direct link to emotion then sound. This is our way of synchronizing the two senses.

Ellice Blackout Bio: Colossal drums, towering walls of guitars and a fierce and commanding voice. The unity of these elements in early 2013 quite literally blew a city transformer outside of their rehearsal space and Ellice Blackout was born.
The five members of the band, already well seasoned musicians and performers, found within each other a perfect solidarity of musical approach: electrifying energy, collaborative musicianship and monumental fun . Ellice Blackout has earned a vibrant following after only two years of main stage shows. Recently, Ellice Blackout has headlined shows at Sugar Nightclub and the Rifflandia Festival in Victoria, and featured as one of the Best in Van finalists at Joes Apartment in Vancouver.
