Eat Well Do Good Fundraiser
12:00 am - 11:59 pm
750 Hornby Street
Nature’s Path celebrates the 7th year of Eat Well Do Food Fundraiser as they share the food bank’s vision for accessible, healthy, sustainable food for all. They believe everyone has the right to quality, organic food regardless of circumstance.
The event began in 2009 when Arran Stephens, co-founder and co-CEO of Nature’s Path Foods, heard the Dalai Lama speak about compassion. He was inspired to put his own compassion into action in the community where he lives and works by creating an annual fundraiser to help feed those who need it most.
As an avid gardener and organic pioneer, his natural instinct was to put his compassion toward promoting everyone’s right to clean food. Together with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society and generous community partners, Arran’s vision has helped feed 28,000 families.
Nature’s Path are asking people to eat at the cafe and shop the marketplace, with all the proceeds benefiting the food bank. You’ll help feed others delicious food just by feeding yourself the same.
You’ll be able to get a big bag of Nature’s Path products and fresh produce for a $20 donation as well as other products available for purchase by donation from Silver Hills Bakery, Happy Planet, Ethical Bean Coffee, and Pacific Food.
Nature’s Path has committed to double donations to feed more people in the community, up to 40,000 lbs. in food.
So what 40,000 lbs. of food look like?
- 40,000lbs = 55,813 boxes of granola
- 2.5 delivery trucks (1 truck carries 15,000 lbs. of food)
- 252 shopping carts (1 shopping cart carries 159 lbs. of food)
- 55,813 boxes = 12.75km granola boxes (9” tall) lined-up end to end
- 4x height of Grouse Mountain (2.9km tall)
- 1+ x loop around Stanley Park (10km)
- 7+ length of Lions Gate Bridge (1.823km)
