DemoCamp is “show and tell” for the local tech community. Presenters are given an opportunity to show what they’ve been creating and audience members are able to give feedback on ideas and meet other people in the Vancouver tech community.
Demos will consist of a five minute presentation followed by five minutes of audience Q&A. Our first first 50 ticket purchasers voted on potential demos and selected the following projects:
Perch is an app that transforms an iOS device into an always-on video portal, designed to connect two separate spaces together. By connecting two spaces using our Perch portal, we create a natural, always-on way method of communication that removes the burden found in other communication systems. It’s as if you’re speaking with those on the other side of the portal like they’ve been in the same room with you all along.
From the creators of PhoneGap comes a new kind of web framework that drastically lowers the cognitive overhead of developing front-end applications. Harp ships with pre-processors and makes it dead simple to write your application using tools such as jade, less, and markdown. Harp works great as a stand alone web server but the killer feature is the first class platform for deploying your Harp applications using Dropbox.
We make it ridiculously simple to build, manage, and deploy “Tailored Smart Maps” to web and mobile. We define a “Tailored Smart Map” as a stylized, vector-based map that we infuse with indoor navigation that requires ZERO setup or maintenance. Our first product on the platform is called Mall Rat, a platform tailored to the mobile shopping mall experience.
Øidle is a venue listing service making it easy, convenient and quick to find the perfect venue for your next happening. Finding a suitable event space is one of the most difficult and time consuming tasks in the event planning process. Many event organizers simply don’t have the time, and settle for the first option they are able to secure. Meanwhile, many fabulous venues sit idle and vacant. Øidle helps you discover great venues that suit your needs with just a few clicks. Let us show you how simple finding a venue can be when things are presented in a neat new way
Socualizer is a social media visualizer for concerts, trade shows, and other events. A turn key solution for event marketers to engage audiences via Twitter and Instagram, Socualizer tracks hashtags and mentions placing media in a dashboard where it can be approved for the visualizer. Developed for Google Chrome using WebGL, our goal is to market this fully brandable solution to event marketers and planners all over the world.
