A performance installation of original percussion instruments (made of water and glass) coupled with world premiere compositions, City of Water, Sea of Glass is a collaboration of some of BC’s most innovative composers and visual artists.Curated by Redshift Music Society and This Is It Design, locally crafted instruments will be played by the Fringe Percussion Quartet, debuting compositions by five local composers.

Fringe will also perform New-York composer Viet Cuong’s Water, Wine, Brandy, Brine, with the evening culminating with the Vancouver premiere of Water Music, a quartet for amplified water bowls penned by the renowned Chinese composer Tan Dun, best known for his scores for the film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
