The City of Vancouver will celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a special community event that showcases the talent of local artists with disabilities. This free event is open to everyone!
When: Tuesday, December 3 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.
– 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Art show and dance workshop
– 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Guest speakers and entertainment
International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an annual event designated by the United Nations. It has been observed annually around the world since 1992 with the goal of promoting awareness and understanding of disability issues and supporting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
2013 marks the seventh year that the City of Vancouver is partnering with community organizations to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The City’s celebration is generously sponsored by Vancity.
