Chor Leoni presents VanMan Choral Summit Concert
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
6265 Crescent Rd.
Take a boys’ choir, an all-male youth choir, and three men’s choirs, and bring them together in the glorious acoustics of the Chan Centre for a day of musical exploration. The result is Chor Leoni’s first-ever Vanman Choral Summit, an event that showcases the full spectrum of male singing. Featuring Chor Leoni Men’s Choir, Chor Leoni’s MYVoice choirs of young men, the British Columbia Boys Choir, UBC Men’s Choir, Vancouver Men’s Chorus, and Seattle’s Illumni Men’s Chorale, this is a “not to be missed” event for lovers of choral music. The daylong event includes opportunities to rehearse together, build community over shared meals, and sing for each other and the public.
The evening’s Summit Concert (7:30pm, tickets through chancentre.com) features solo sets from the area’s best male choruses, plus a magnificent “surround sound” mass choir finale.
Chor Leoni’s Artistic Director Erick Lichte is excited about Vanman. “The sound of men singing together is one of the rarest and most thrilling on earth,” he says. “Chor Leoni fully believes in the transformative power of male choral singing and we are thrilled to focus that power for a day of music, brotherhood and sharing.”
From youthful exuberance to practiced maturity, VanMan puts you in the midst of over 300 singers as they make the Chan Centre ring. Don’t miss it!
