What do you get when you bring together two of the hippest cultures from two of the hottest corners of the globe?
In a word – BINDAASwest; a night for young professionals to experience the music and culture of India and Israel – two of the world’s oldest civilizations.
Acclaimed Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur and the Rajasthan Express will be on hand to perform their only concert date in Western Canada.
Shye’s music weaves together traditional Sufi Qawwali and Rajasthani rhythms, with Hebrew lyricism and Western elements. After years of studying traditional Indian classical music Shye felt inspired to start composing lyrics in his native Hebrew. Working with Qawwali singers and Rajasthani folk musicians, Shye has created a unique style that fuses together two very culturally rich traditions.
BINDAASwest will also feature cultural drink specials, a sampling of Israeli and Indian food courtesy of renowned chef Vikram Vij’s Railway Express. On site henna applications will also be available by Almas Bridal Henna.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the unique convergence of Indo-Israeli culture.
BINDAASwest will take place on July 28 at Ginger62 – 1219 Granville Street in Vancouver.
Tickets for BINDAASwest are $10 and available online at bindaaswest.eventbrite.com.
