Ayurveda is the science of life: it is based on thousands of years of observation and practice. One of its primary observations is that life, like the year, moves in cycles. When we are in harmony with the cycles of the seasons, we achieve optimal health.

Exercising and/or having a regular yoga practise is essential for your health. As we head into the heart of winter, we need to adapt and practise the asanas that support our immune, lymphatic, and nervous systems optimally. In this workshop you will learn how to create your own yoga practise aligning with nature’s intelligence.

The first part of this workshop will be a study of the best asanas for the Vata dosha constitution and Vata imbalances. You’ll learn how to create a yoga practise to bring back peace within your body and your mind. The emphasis during this workshop will be on the following attributes: serenity, warmth, groundedness, and steadiness.

The second part of this workshop will be a practise based on ayurvedic philosophy. You’ll experience a slow and conscious yoga practise that will help you feel grounded, calm and strong at the same time. For example, we will do sitting and standing poses to strengthen the legs and stimulate circulation, easy back bends performed with care, and lots of forward bends and simple twists to harmonize your digestive system.

The workshop will include a handout you can follow for your home practise.
