A Visual Poetic: Collected Works by David Goldberg
436 Columbia Street
Vancouver, British Columbia
‘Fine art for the forager’ is how David refers to his experimental photography and video work. These lens based mediums have both potentials of deliberate mastery and accidental genius. It is a balance between the control we have over the medium and the control the medium has on us. ‘We are not painters but we are not cheaters either. We embody the fool at the beginning of the journey and we challenge our viewer, our audience, to embark thereafter; with us. A rabbit hole of story, time and place.’
The challenge to be challenged… to critique within capture… to create question within frame… to find a visual poetic.
David Goldberg is a photographer, artist and film maker living and working in Vancouver, BC. He holds a Bachelor of Sociology from The University of Victoria and attended the Ebeltoft Film College in Denmark. David’s work is a tactful and tasteful mixture of experimental photography and video, deep seated in a personal dialog between the artist and audience. Through the use of these specific mediums and the passionate intent behind the collected works, A Visual Poetic aims to push the boundaries of the categories we often set around art and engage with the open-minded and curious.
