Canada’s longest-running Jewish film festival celebrates 25 years and runs from November 7 to 14 at Fifth Avenue Cinemas. Vancouverites will be treated to a film festival that is inclusive, encouraging multi-cultural interaction and discussions of relevant issues while presenting the best independent movies.
The festival has been presenting the best worldwide selection of award-winning independent films, featuring special guests including actors and directors, panel discussions, live music and gala parties.
This year’s Festival features a collection of powerful thought-provoking award winning films including an unprecedented 11 Canadian premieres. One of the themes of the Festival is “ Opening a Dialogue.” The acceptance of different and sometimes opposing backgrounds – a theme that is inherently relevant today. Exciting festivities are planned including opening and closing receptions at The BMW Store across the street from The Fifth Avenue Cinema. There will be special events, live music, guest speakers and Q&A sessions featuring, directors, filmmakers, educators and panel discussions with audience participation.
