2014 Capstone Conference
8:30 am - 4:00 pm
350 West Georgia
Capstone Conference showcases research by graduating Occupational Therapy students of the University of British Columbia’s Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy.Students work under the supervision of faculty, clinicians, and other academics in creating both quantitative and qualitative-based studies. Many of the students at the conference have already presented or are preparing to present at the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy and other national and international conferences and may be preparing to publish their findings in academic occupational therapy and other health care journals.
The conference continues to provide a venue for students to demonstrate what they have discovered at the accumulation of their education and just prior to their commencing Occupational Therapy careers. The conference also provides a pinnacle opportunity for graduating students to pass the baton, as incoming students and returning students gather to share knowledge and celebrate together.
The keynote speaker this year is a trained occupational therapist and writer Paulette Bourgeois, and the faculty address will be presented by Michael Lee.
The conference will be celebrating its 9th year on August 28th, 2014 with the theme “Enhancing Collaborative Communities”.
It will take place at the Vancouver Public Library: Alice McKay, Alma VanDusenand Peter Kaye rooms.
Registration opens at 7:45 AM.
