Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and video game players, supporters and fans from around the world will descend upon Vancouver for the 2013 Pokémon World Championships the weekend of August 9 to 11. The Vancouver Convention Centre is hosting the international event where the most elite Pokémon players from more than 30 countries will compete for the coveted title of 2013 Pokémon World Champion. The event is open and family-friendly and includes a variety of additional activities, non-competitive play, and appearances from Pokémon costumed characters.
Players who have not received an official invite can compete in the Last Chance Qualifier on Friday, August 9th with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Opening ceremonies for the official 2013 Pokémon World Championships begin on Saturday, August 10th at 9 a.m. with competition continuing throughout the day. Final rounds for both TCG and video game take place throughout Sunday, August 11 in advance of the closing ceremony and trophy presentation.
