12th Caribbean Festival in Maple Ridge
224th Street at Haney Place
Maple Ridge, BC
Looking to add a bit of spice to your weekend? Join in the fun and festivities at the 12th Caribbean Festival, held July 13 and 14 in downtown Maple Ridge.
This incredibly successful festival promises a taste of the best the Caribbean has to offer plus fun for the whole family, and it delivers! Last year saw over 18,000 people attend the free two-day event.
With 15 bands on two stages and over 200 entertainers in all, live Caribbean music and performances will have you dancing in the streets. Enjoy reggae, calypso, salsa and soca music including a performance by Juno Award-winning Canadian reggae artist Steele, backed by Natural Flavas.
For those looking to treat their palate to a Caribbean kick, authentic food will be served throughout the festival. There will even be a beer garden if limbo dancing in the summer sunshine makes you thirsty! Add to that approximately 70 street vendors plus a carnival atmosphere throughout downtown Maple Ridge and there’s definitely something for everyone.
Don’t forget to bring the little ones, too! Part of 224th Street will be transformed into a fantastic Kidzone with entertainers and rides that are certain to delight. Let the children in your life experience the fun and fascinating culture of the Caribbean without having to leave town.
Throughout the summer, they’ll be providing “bucket lists” online, highlighting the best the region has to offer. Enjoy a staycation in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows and you could be eligible to win fantastic prizes. Look out for more information online at www.mapleridge-pittmeadows.com and around town soon!
