This week’s Music Monday feature is Vancouver’s favorite Rosette. 2012 is going to be a break out year for Vancouver pop singer Rosette. Fresh off her summer hit “Fire”, she has just released her latest single “Amnesia” with superstar DJ Ian Carey and uber record producer Timbaland. It’s a match made in pop music heaven. “Amnesia” is a bass pumping electro-pop number sure to get you up and dancing.

We’ve talked about her talent before and she’s given us a reason to do so again! Vancouver singer-songwriter Kristie Yung released her new single ‘Won’t Let You Hurt Me Anymore’ on iTunes last month. With a new music video and big plans for the future, the Canadian-born musician is on her way to her goal of being added to the list of indie success stories.

Randy Ponzio is a name you may not have heard of if you aren’t too familiar with the Vancouver music scene. He was a Singer/Songwriter with soul to spare and a proclivity for effortlessly weaving reggae rock anthems. He received recognition as the winner of Shore 104.3 FM’s Song Search with his song “For the People”, and was featured in Nimbus’ Showcase Event – taking top prize in that too. Bob Marley was a huge influence on Ponzio, who was fortunate enough to perform with his children, Ziggy and Ky Mani Marley.

Add Dominique Fricot’s name to a small but growing list of local artists who have yet to find the recognition they deserve: his solo songs can’t be found on iTunes yet and the closest you’ll come to a download is by signing up for his mailing list and checking his Youtube page.

I would be lying to you if I said I knew a lot about the country music scene as a whole. I’d be lying even more if I said I knew about the local country music scene in Vancouver. What I do know is what a beautiful voice sounds like. Because of that latter fact I now know about the singer/songwriter Jessie Farrell. Based on Vancouver Island, the lovely songstress was kind enough to sit down with me recently to discuss her latest album Love Letter and what her plans are going forward into 2012.
