The Canucks are down in a hole, a deep one. Losing the first two games at home to the Sharks leaves them in a tough one to climb out of, but going into San Jose, they do have the pieces available to leap out of it. Unless, that is, a surprise gamble by coach Alain Vigneault blows up in his face. 

It almost seemed too good to be true.

On Wednesday night, the Canucks and their fans alike saw a totally different team donning the teal with black and orange trim jerseys – and a very familiar one in their own home colours of blue and green.

Glee fans! Vancouver’s very own Cory Monteith was at Rogers Arena last night to support his home team for Game 1 of Round 1 against the San Jose Sharks. He was accompanied by his girlfriend Lea Michele, who also stars on the show.

Let’s not set cars aflame just yet. On Wednesday night, the Canucks played host to a tough game full of hits against the San Jose Sharks. Goaltending, defense and offense were quite evenly matched throughout the game save for some blunders, making the result dependent on some good ol’ garbage goals. In the end, the Sharks beat the Canucks 3-1, and took the best-of-seven series lead 1-0.
