Thirteen Vancouver salons will be using their talents and scissors next week to help raise funds for the Hematology Research and Clinical Trials Unit for Leukemia & Lymphoma at VGH. The first annual Beautify Me Vancouver aims to also raise awareness for blood cancers in a new way.

A group of Hollywood producers have announced intentions to create a feature film about local B.C. hero Terry Fox. Plans for the film were first publicly announced yesterday on April 12, the 33rd anniversary of Terry Fox’s 1980 Marathon of Hope.

On Saturday, March 30th, 2013, the Richmond Devils Senior A Hockey Club will compete against the Richmond Ravens Midget AA hockey team at Minoru Arena in Richmond at 5:15-6:45pm. Everyone is invited to support the Richmond Devils and Live for Sammi in memory of Samantha Wong, who was a vital member of the Devils coaching staff that lost her life due to complications of her lupus condition.

On April 2, 2013, the Langara Business Association (LBA) will be hosting the 4th Annual AWEAR Charity Fashion Show – A Night in Paris at Langara College. The charity benefiting from this event is the Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS). For over 30 years, BWSS has worked to end violence against women and has provided advocacy and direct support to women who have been abused.

A group of students from The Art Institute will be hosting a fundraising night for Keep A Breast Canada. The fundraiser will feature a “super awesome night of drinks, food, live painting of a breast cast, sweet prizes and music by The Dawn Dwellers!”
