    They cooked through the sweltering Texas heat and endured snow and ice in Whistler. Now, for the season nine finale of Top Chef: Texas, the “chef-testants” travel to the world-recognized culinary destination of Vancouver to battle it out for the coveted title of Top Chef and $125,000 in prize money. For those of you that still dispute Vancouver’s food scene just compare it to other North American cities. The variety and quality is matched by only a few cities in N. America.

I had the pleasure of chattign with Marc before his show this Friday night and we chatted about what it takes to get a podcast off the ground, how he goes about booking guests for it and some of the things he likes about Vancouver.

    Unless you’ve been living under a rock, by now you have heard of Jeremy Lin. No not the Jeremy Lin you went to high school with, I’m talking about the talk of the sports world, New York’s Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin aka Linsanity. But did you know that before he made the switch to the NBA, Jeremy Lin was indeed Trevor LINden? He was and the photo above is proof.

    We had a big Cascadia crew out for the amazing Gabriel & Dresden show Friday night at Celebrities and we thoroughly enjoyed it. These guys have been producing and DJing together for over a decade (with a 2 year split in between) and their experience really showed in their performance.

  6. Music Monday: Said The Whale

    Said The Whale, with the likes of Hey Ocean, Mother Mother and Dan Mangan, is one of the most recognized bands in the Vancouver Indie scene. I first took wind of them during the Olympics when they played numerous shows around the Lower Mainland. From then on they have infiltrated the local scene by playing secret shows, getting regular play on The Peak and coming in 2nd in The Peak Performance Project, leaving with $75,000. Like all great bands, they inevitably outgrew their local scene and ventured out to get attention on a grander scale.
