You’ve made it through another work week, congratulations. You have two days off to enjoy everything Vancouver has to offer, but maybe you don’t know where to start.

Well, you’ve come to the right place.

Here are 22 things to do in Vancouver this weekend, Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29.

Saturday, May 28

The Grape & The Grain Festival

  • What: Walk through the pathways from district to district sampling the best liquors from BC and beyond. Enjoy live music and fare from Vancouver’s favourite food trucks in the beautiful Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre.
  • Where: Cloverdale Fairgrounds – 17798 62nd Avenue, Cloverdale
  • When: Saturday, May 28 to Sunday, May 29

Cedar Cottage Community Carnival

  • What: Cake walk, silent auction, ethnic lunch, bake sale, kids’ carnival, flea market, food, fun and games, prizes, face painting, clowns, bingo, entertainment, fun for all ages!
  • Where: Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House – 4065 Victoria Drive, Vancouver
  • When: Saturday, May 28; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

West End Farmers Market

  • What: Located in the heart of Vancouver’s busy West End, this laid-back Saturday market looks onto beautiful Nelson Park and adjacent community gardens. Weekly, West Enders can enjoy the best in local produce, prepared foods and crafts. Hot food and coffee on-site as well.
  • Where: Comox Street, Vancouver
  • When: Opens Saturday, May 28 and runs until October 22; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

European Festival

  • What: Learn about Canada’s European heritage at the 19th annual European Festival this May 28 and 29, 2016.  You won’t want to miss out on this exciting weekend of cultural and culinary delights and rich entertainment.
  • Where: Swangard Stadium – 3883 Imperial Street, Burnaby
  • When: Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

MEC North Vancouver’s Bikefest

  • What: Come join the fun and connect with your local cycling community. You can try out gear, test ride a new bike, browse exhibitors’ booths, score deals at the MEC Bikeswap, or learn skills at a bike clinic. There’ll also be bike races, performers, entertainment, food vendors and kids’ activities.

Portobello West Summer Market

  • What: Created in 2006 by Carlie Smith and inspired by the famous artisan markets of Europe, Portobello West’s goal is to introduce Vancouver’s style conscious shoppers to the creative artisans and designers working here.
  • Where: Creekside Community Recreation Centre – 1 Athletes Way, Vancouver
  • When: Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Free Family Days at the Contemporary Art Gallery

  • What: On the last Saturday of each month, the CAG invites all ages to drop-in for short exhibition tours and free art making activities that respond to our current exhibitions.

Whitecaps FC vs. Houston Dynamo

B.C. Uncorked Food & Wine Festival

  • What: The upcoming May event will showcase wines from 50 top-rated BC wineries, matched with intriguing foods provided by 12 of the best local restaurants and caterers.  BC Uncorked is thrilled to partner with Team Taylor of The Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Sunday, May 29

World Partnership Walk

  • What: The 32nd annual World Partnership Walk comes to Vancouver to increase awareness and raise funds to help fight global poverty. 100% of all funds raised go directly to support Aga Khan Foundation Canada’s programs in Africa and Asia.
  • Where: Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park
  • When: Sunday, May 29; free registration opens at 9 a.m.

B.C. Buddhist Festival

  • What: We welcome you to a full day of exciting free events at the 2016 BC Buddhist festival, including the Buddha bathing ceremony,  meditation workshops, dharma conference, monastic expo, art exhibit, kids zone, food, marketplace, and live performances – all in the beautiful natural setting of Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver, BC.

The WISE Hall Flea

  • What: The WISE Hall Flea happens on the last Sunday of the month.
  • Where: WISE Hall – 1882 Adanac Street, Vancouver

The Big Splash

  • What: On Sunday, May 29, the Wesbrook Village Community Centre will be turning on the waterworks in style, with free face-painting, music, and family fun. The first 300 visitors will get a free treat from Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, come drop by the Wesbrook Village tent for some chocolate drinks, and other refreshments will be served as well.

STREETFIGHT Improv

  • What: Streetfight is a hilarious hour of head to head short form improv that you don’t want to miss. Every week we get ten of the funniest improvisers in town (or amazing special guests!) who compete back and forth with short improvised scenes vying for your laughter! Audience suggestions, participation and votes will crown one sole improviser as that night’s Streetfight Champion.

Crafty Comedy

  • What: Open-mic comedy featuring some of the best comedians in Vancouver.

Wild B.C. Spot Prawn Boil

  • What: Local food lovers are counting down to the launch of Wild BC Spot Prawn season, a favourite of YEW Executive Chef Ned Bell. On May 29, June 5 and June 12 a limited number of guests will be able to book a seat at YEW’s communal table for an interactive, get-messy feast.

BCCF Chorfest: PacifiChor

  • What: As a service to our members, the BC Choral Federation puts on a number of exciting and informative choral events every year. Chorfest is our flagship event held each May to coincide with our AGM. Highlighting interesting and challenging works, the weekend event is specifically designed for amateur and community-based choral singers.

A Night in the Sun

Dao of Now: Clearing the Haze of the Modern Age
