New food truck El Cartel hits the streets of Vancouver

A new mobile eatery recently hit the streets of Vancouver. Having rolled on into town at the end of April, El Cartel offers globally-inspired cuisine.

“Our menu items are the offspring of a cross-cultural culinary marriage of dishes,” says El Cartel’s owner-operator RJ, who declined to provide his full name.

People who stop by this bright blue food truck can expect to find dishes such as Bulgogi Short Rib Tacos, Kimchi Fried Rice Short Rib Burritos, rice bowls, a Truffle Philly Steak Sandwich, and a heap of piping hot fries topped with bulgogi short rib and spicy aioli.

Catering to vegan and vegetarian eaters, El Cartel also prepares Roasted Moroccan Cauliflower Tacos.

Alongside its edible offerings, El Cartel also offers a range of refreshing drinks made with fresh fruits, such as Basil Limeade, Mint Ice tea, Blueberry Pineapple lemonade, and more.

Roaming through the streets of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, those wanting to track down El Cartel can do so via the Street Food App, as well as the four wheeled eatery’s Instagram page.

In addition to visiting various spots for lunch, like the Hootsuite HQ, RJ has recently secured a downtown spot for El Cartel and will park the food truck on West Georgia Street during lunch time hours throughout the week. Stay tuned to the food truck’s Facebook page for exact location.

El Cartel has also been doing the brewery rounds, and will continue to pull up out the front of 33 Acres Brewing Company on Thursday nights and at Strange Fellows Brewing Company on Saturday Nights.
