Man injured in East Vancouver shooting

Police in Vancouver are investigating a targeted shooting that injured one man in the city’s Eastside neighbourhood late Tuesday night.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots being fired near North Oxford and Skeena streets just after 11 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, they found a 33-year-old man in the backyard of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was rushed to hospital and underwent surgery. He is expected to survive his injuries.

“While the motive for the attack has yet to be determined, the victim is well known to police and the shooting is believed to be gang-related,” reads a release. “Police are conducting an ongoing search for witnesses and video and the VPD continues to investigate.”

The investigation in its early stages. At this time, no arrests have been made.
