Hedley

  • What: Formed in B.C. in 2003, pop-punk outfit Hedley has been eating up airwaves ever since lead singer Jacob Hoggard made it to the top three of Canadian Idol in 2004. Fans can expect the usual wild-eyed, spectacle-filled show for their Hello World Tour.
  • Where: Rogers Arena – 800 Griffiths Way, Vancouver
  • When: 7 p.m.
  • Tickets: Available from Ticketmaster, from $39.50 plus fees

Cloverdale Rodeo

  • What: Watch cowboys and cowgirls from around the world take part in Bareback, Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding events, as well as Ladies Barrel Racing, when the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair kicks off on Friday night in Surrey.
  • Where: Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair – 6050 176 Street, Surrey
  • When: Friday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m., continues through long weekend
  • Tickets: Available on the Cloverdale Rodeo website, $10 for gate entry, $25 for rodeo performances.

League of Exotique Dancers

  • What: One of 2016’s most highly anticipated documentaries, director Ramu Rau’s exploration of burlesque is a provocative and eye-opening “backstage tour” of the golden age of burlesque through the colourful lives of unforgettable women who made it glitter.
  • Where: Rio Theatre – 1660 East Broadway, Vancouver
  • When: Doors 6 p.m., movie 6:30 p.m.
  • Tickets: Available from the Rio Theatre, $10 in advance or $12 at the door

The Piano Guys

  • What: Utah-based classical-pop group The Piano Guys are a YouTube sensation thanks to their immensely successful series of strikingly original self-made music videos. This week, they are performing in Vancouver for the first time
  • Where: Queen Elizabeth Theatre – 630 Hamilton Street, Vancouver
  • When: 8 p.m.
  • Tickets: Available through Ticketmaster, from $49.50 + fees

Ron White

  • What: Grammy-nominated Ronald Dee “Ron” White is best known as the cigar smoking, scotch drinking funnyman from the “Blue Collar Comedy” phenomenon – but he also has three of the top rated one-hour TV specials in Comedy Central history.
  • Where: Orpheum – 601 Smithe Street, Vancouver
  • When: 8 p.m.
  • Tickets: Available through Ticketmaster, $75 + fees
