Have your say on Vancouver's liquor laws

Liquor lovers, get your keyboards ready: the City of Vancouver wants your input on their current alcohol policies.

The survey comes in the form of an online questionnaire where you’ll be asked questions about how liquor is served, produced, and sold, all in order to help the city revise how they approach alcohol laws.

“Anytime we’re looking to make a change, anytime that we’re looking to review and go back and say ‘hey did we get it right?’ we reach out to our residents, our businesses on a larger scale,” director of licensing Andreea Toma tells Vancity Buzz.

“For this particular one, in regard to liquor, people have personal experiences, they have personal ties, and it’s also, in terms of the cultural background, we’re so diverse in our communities that I think it’s important to reach out.”

We’re kind of addicted to patios here in the office, so more of those – and longer hours – would be fantastic.

In addition to the online survey, the city will be hosting two pop-up city halls on Saturday, April 16, and Sunday, April 17 to discuss the liquor review policy.
