Join the city’s weirdest experts for a night of photography, Japanese food, and the world of animal sex at Nerd Nite Vancouver.
Nerd Nite is a speaker series that started in 2003, when Boston-based ornithologist Chris Balakrishnan decided to host a slideshow on his recent trip to Cameroon to document the indigobird. After packing the house with nerds, Balakrishnan realized he was on to something. 13 years later Nerd Nites have cropped up in 80 cities around the world, including right here in Vancouver.
This edition, fostered by UBC PhD student Kaylee Byers, VFX data coordinator Brandon Doty, and astronomy educator Michael Unger will feature presentations by photographer Angela Fama on her Winnebago trip the photographer the faces of love, Hana Dethlefsen’s scientific investigation into what makes Japanese food, and an exploration by Lyndsay Fraser into the strange, strange world of animal sex.
