You’ll need sunglasses, shorts, and short sleeves again for much of this week. Residents in Metro Vancouver can expect another bout of warm and sunny weather beginning on Wednesday.

According to Environment Canada, there will be a mix of sun and showers on Monday and more rainfall is expected again on Tuesday. However, this will transition into an extended period of sunshine and warm weather beginning in the middle of the week when a strong ridge of high pressure moves in.

Temperatures are expected to rise significantly starting on Thursday, up to 18°C by the water and 24°C within inland areas.

With warm temperatures just around the corner, those who are looking to take advantage of what’s left of the ski and snowboard season should do so quickly.

Up in the North Shore mountains, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 16°C on Thursday. No new snow is expected for the foreseeable future.

Whistler Blackcomb will also experience warming conditions starting on Wednesday. The two-mountain resort will see some new snow today and tomorrow, but this will give way to a mid-mountain high of 9°C by Thursday.
