Sun-seeking season is here, sort of. It is going to feel like summer for much of the week in Metro Vancouver, even though summer is officially still more than two months away.

Many temperature records could be broken across British Columbia over the next few days with a strong ridge of high pressure continuing to develop. Today in Metro Vancouver, temperatures will hit a high of 21°C by the water at Vancouver International Airport and 27°C within inland areas such as Burnaby and Surrey.

Daytime highs over the coming days will dip slightly but remain well above seasonal. Highs of 20°C by the water and 26°C inland are forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday.

By Thursday, conditions will become considerably cooler and transition into rainfall, which will last through at least Sunday.

Peace out winter 2015/16. You've given us rad times.

Much of the snowpack on the local mountains has already melted from the early bout of warm weather. Conditions for skiing and snowboarding will deteriorate even more over the week; temperatures at the top of the North Shore mountains will reach up to 20°C on Monday, 18°C on Tuesday, and 14°C on Wednesday.

In the B.C. interior, temperatures could hit 30°C.
