Holi Masala, a paint splattered food truck offering a range of colourfully creative Indian dishes has recently hit the streets of Vancouver.
While the food truck made an appearance at this year’s Vaisakhi Parade, the restaurant on wheels will park at a secured spot on Seymour Street (just north of the Georgia Street intersection) in downtown, from the first week of May.
“Our mission is to serve healthy, hot, quick, casual, and unique Indian dishes with flair, says co-owner Navraj Dosanjh. “Fresh local ingredients will be used and fused with traditional Indian masalas to produce delightful flavours,” adds Dosanjh.
A rotating food menu will feature Kathi Rolls (a.k.a. Bombay Frankie), unique takes on the traditional Samosa, authentic Indian Paratha (flatbread stuffed with the choice of paneer, potato, lentils, or chicken), and various curry bowls served with naan bread.
Look out for masala sliders, which include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Also available, a variety of inventive tacos with toppings that include fish pakoras, chicken tikka, or paneer.
Drink wise, Holi Masala will offer traditional Indian chai and also an iced chai during the warmer months.
Address: Seymour Street (just north of the Georgia Street intersection)
Hours: As of May, Holi Masala’s regular hours of operation will be Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
