Man attacks young woman with golf club in East Vancouver

Do you recognize this man? Vancouver Police are looking for a suspect who attacked a young woman during the early morning hours of Saturday, April 2.

According to a release, a 23-year-woman was walking along Gladstone Street near Kingsway when a man on a bicycle struck her in the back of the head with a golf club. The man then proceeded to turn around and approached the woman again, but he was scared off by a witness and fled.

The victim incurred minor injuries, which were treated on-site by paramedics.

“It is still early in the investigation and the motive for the attack remains unclear,” reads the release. “Police are hoping someone will recognize the man described and shown in the composite drawing.”

Police have described the suspect as a Caucasian male in his late 20s to early 30s, clean-shaven, 6-foot tall, with an average build, short, dark brown hair, and a large brow. No description was provided for what he was wearing at the time, but his bicycle was described as an older, blue mountain bike.
