A free mountain biking group is aiming to empower and inspire women who want to hit the trails in a safe, pressure and worry-free environment.

Bell Joy Rides take place once a month and are designed to encourage camaraderie and challenge female mountain bikers of all skill levels and abilities.

We are about breaking down the barriers to entry to mountain biking for women. We provide resources to women, connect, inspire, support and empower them through community,” says Bell Joy Ride ambassador Isabelle Jacques. “When I say ‘we’ I mean myself, the fabulous female riders who volunteer to take the girls out riding with us every month as well as Bell Helmets and the local businesses supporting this program.”

Prior to every event, the team hosts a draw where you can win swag from Bell Helmets, Giro, Luna Bar, Camelback, and BlackBurn Design.

The next Bell Joy Ride is hosted by Different Bikes North Vancouver and takes place Saturday, April 23. Groups will be split into six different ability levels and free demo bikes will be available for the ladies to take out.
